Michigan Football Odds & Ends

While Michigan may be ranked #24 in the USATODAY Coaches Poll, Sports Illustrated has a slightly different opinion as they have Michigan ranked #55. Seven teams on Michigan's schedule are ranked higher than the Wolverines.

In other news, Morgan Trent is fast. Very fast. To the tune of a 4.13 forty fast.

There's a press conference scheduled for today at 5:15 at the conclusion of the Wolverines' third practice of the summer. Hopefully we'll have the details and maybe some audio from that up this evening

UPDATE: Rich Rod was really uninformative, so I'm going to skip that audio. Brandon Graham was very interesting so his audio will be up here shortly. When asked about the incoming freshman who stood out, he brought up Sam McGuffie so I had to ask, has Sam jumped over anyone yet?

Apparently a few weeks ago McGuffie did a full front flip over Obi Ezeh after being egged on by the team to recreate his youtube stunt.

One somewhat interesting tidbit from Rodriguez was that Bryan Wright has moved from kicker to punter and is seemingly giving Zoltan Mesko some competition for that starting job although Rodriguez also said that Zoltan has been outstanding punting the ball. All positions are considered a competition, but Rich Rod called the kick-off specialist position "wide open."

UPDATE UPDATE: here's the Brandon Graham audio
